As reported by The Sun, Tazeen’s brothers said in a statement: “We remain immensely proud of all she achieved – as a mother, journalist, writer and for her coaching work.
“So many people have been in touch remarking on her powerful ability to turn around people’s lives for the better.
“She was so proud of her two young boys who are left to remember their loving, kind, smart, nurturing, beautiful mama.”
Speaking of the moment Tazeen passed away, her brothers said she was in “an amazing room” that was “filled with sunflowers, cushions, candles and an abundance of love”, with all her family and close friends around her.
Tazeen was considered one of the first Asian Muslim women to rise to the top of broadcast journalism in Britain.
And during her career, she was recognised with multiple awards for her work – including the Asian Media Award for Best Investigation in 2013, which was won by her Dispatches documentary The Hunt for Britain’s Sex Gangs.
Tazeen was one of the most gifted journalists of her generation.
Tributes poured in on Twitter.
Solicitor Nazir Afzal wrote: “I’m deeply saddened by passing of Tazeen Ahmed. She bravely investigated challenging issues in award-winning programmes including one I did with her, Hunt for Britain’s Sex Gangs, about grooming.
“48 is no age to go. My thoughts with her family and friends.”
