The Queen testing positive for COVID has resulted in an outpouring of concern on social media.
Buckingham Palace confirmed earlier today (Sunday February 20) that the monarch, 95, is “experiencing mild cold-like symptoms”.
However, while the statement offered hope the Queen is not unwell to the extent it will prevent her from taking on “light duties over the coming week”, many Twitter users prayed for a quick recovery.

Countless supportive tweets concerning the Queen’s health were posted in the hours following the announcement.
Among the hundreds and thousands of tweets produced were many admissions of fears for her wellbeing.
But that didn’t prevent supporters sending their best wishes and love on social media.
“Good luck to Her Majesty. Wishing a full and speedy recovery but obviously worried,” one user wrote.

Another said: “Praying for the Queen’s recovery.”
A third contributed: “I hope the Queen will be okay. I’m so worried for her, and wishing her the best, with lots of love.”
And a fourth added: “I’m worried about her, she’s 95. We are being told it’s mild symptoms so I really hope she will be ok.”
Another anxious fan reacted: “Omg. I am worried about her, I love her.
“God give her good health and speedy recovery, Amen. I want to see her 100th birthday.”

And yet another pleaded: “Bless our precious Queen, Lord keep her safe.
“We love and need her.
“Please keep us informed we’re so worried with all the extra stress she’s had to cope with.”
‘The Queen is indestructible’
Others felt more relaxed about the Queen’s condition, insisting she will be strong enough to not be affected by the virus.

One tweeter claimed: “I think COVID should be the one worried, nothing beats the Queen.”
And another wrote: “Queen Liz has COVID but I’m not worried because that woman is literally indestructible.”
