Emmerdale fans will be all too familiar with Robert and Rebecca’s baby Seb.
But what you might not be aware of is that the tiny actor who plays him is actually a girl.
That said, some viewers did speculate about it earlier this year when Lachlan was having an emotional chat with his little cousin.
They felt the tot’s features were those of a female. And the soap confirmed they were right. Seb is portrayed by little Lily Westmoreland.

Bosses explained OK! magazine why Seb is played by a baby girl, revealing: “Lily was given the role as baby Seb was born premature and we needed a small baby to play the role.”
This isn’t uncommon in soaps. Harry Platt from Coronation Street was played by twin girls Pixie and Presley Sellars from 2016-2017, until the role was taken over by twin boys Freddie and Isaac Rhodes.

Little Seb has been at the centre of a battle between his parents recently, with mum Rebecca wanting to move to Liverpool with her boyfriend Ross and son.
However Robert and Aaron were not keen, especially as Aaron has become very close to his step-son.
Eventually Robert gave Rebecca his blessing to take Seb, leaving Aaron upset he was not involved in the decision making.
Seb recently returned to the village but when it was time for Aaron to take him back to his mum, he went missing.
He eventually returned to the village with the Seb saying he couldn’t take the baby back.
