What is Robson Green most famous for?

Robson Green plays DI Geordie Keating in Grantchester.

Robson became famous in the 80s as Jimmy Powell in BBC1’s Casualty.

He went on to star as Dave Tucker in Soldier Soldier, alongside Jerome Flynn’s Paddy Garvey.

The pair became quite the double act, and even released several songs together under Simon Cowell’s record label.

Simon Cowell was so keen to sign the duo that Robson Green reportedly threatened legal action to stop The X Factor star from harassing them!

Not cool, Simon, not cool!

Robson also played Dave Creegan in Touching Evil, Joe Purvis in Grafters, Colin in Northern Lights and Rob Scotcher in Waterloo Road.

He joined the cast of Grantchester in 2014.

Who is Tom Brittney?

Tom Brittney, now 29, stars as Grantchester’s Reverend Will Davenport.

He joined the cast in 2019, after predecessor Sidney Chambers (played by James Norton) left the parish.

Actor Tom’s first role was in Doctors in 2o13.

He went on to star in Casualty, Call the Midwife and Pramface, before landing the huge role in Grantchester.

Tom had big boots to fill, as he was replacing the extremely popular Sidney Chambers.

Why did Sidney Chambers (James Norton) leave Grantchester?

Sidney Chambers left Grantchester in order to spread the Lord’s word elsewhere.

In real life, James Norton’s career was going stratospheric.

Since leaving Grantchester, he’s starred in The Trial of Christine Keeler and carried the drama McMafia on BBC.

He’s even been linked to the role of James Bond too!

Will Sidney Chambers (James Norton) return to Grantchester?

It’s very unlikely that Sidney Chambers will return to Grantchester.

Actor James Norton has explained that it was the right time for his character to pass on the baton to a new Reverend.

He wasn’t killed off, though, so there’s always hope!

Will there be another series of Grantchester?

ITV producers will be watching to see how popular the sixth series of Grantchester is when it returns next year.

If viewers want more, it’s very likely the series will run and run.

Where is Grantchester filmed?

Grantchester has commenced filming in Cambridgeshire, Hampshire and Hertfordshire.

Grantchester is a real village and civil parish on the River Cam or Granta in South Cambridgeshire, England. It lies about two miles south of Cambridge.

Was Grantchester affected by coronavirus?

Kudos Productions had to adhere to strict TV and film production industry guidelines concerning Covid-19 so they could start filming.

Guidelines say that pairs and small groups of actors can interact closer than two metres safely on set.

The cast and crew will have regular coronavirus testing and temperature checking before filming.

Camera and sound equipment is fully sanitised at the end of each filming day and make-up will be applied by technicians wearing full PPE.

Kudos Executive Producer Emma Kingsman-Lloyd says: “In these difficult times, we are delighted to be able to film another series of our beloved Grantchester.

“The cast and crew have worked tirelessly to bring the series to the screen and we know the audience are very excited to see what Will, Geordie and the Grantchester family have in store for them.”
