Aldi is selling Cuthbert the Caterpillar cake to rival the iconic Colin the Caterpillar cake.
The original Colin cake was launched in 1990 and has become a go-to for parties.
Sainsbury’s previously unveiled a caterpillar cake called Wiggles for £6 while Tesco sells Curly the Caterpillar for £6.

Now, Aldi is offering Cuthbert the Caterpillar for just £4.99.
The chocolate sponge cake is rolled up with chocolate buttercream and surrounded by a solid chocolate shell.
He has a white chocolate face with smarties placed along his body as well as white chocolate shoes.
However, Cuthbert isn’t currently available online and is only being trialled in a few stores across the UK.
After photos of Cuthbert the Caterpillar was shared on Twitter, the official M&S page jokingly branded it an “imposter”.

They wrote: “Hmm @aldiUK, my spidey senses are tingling… we definitely spot an impostor.”
Meanwhile, ahead of Halloween, M&S has launched their spooky food range and a creepy Colin the Caterpillar is included.
And a Christmas version is also due to hit the shops in the next few weeks.
The Halloween one is similar to the regular Colin Cake but its face is instead green!
It also features green worm sweets on top of its body.

Coming with a £7 price tag, it seems the creepy caterpillar cake seems to be a hit with shoppers.
“Haha, Colin is looking pretty dank for Halloween this year,” commented one person on Twitter.
“I love a Colin, even an evil Colin!” remarked another on Facebook.
A third joked: “Everyone needs a spooky Colin in their life.”
