Funky variations of the traditional advent calendar are all the rage these days.
Now Lidl is getting in on the act by selling a cheese-filled advent calendar.
What’s more, at £7.99, it’s cheaper than those being sold at Sainsbury’s and Asda.

With each door of the Ilchester British Cheese Advent Calendar enclosing a delicious miniature cheese and an equally cheesy joke to match, shoppers will be treated to a variety of makes including Jarlsberg, Double Gloucester, Cheddar.
There’s also festive Wensleydale with Cranberries and Gingerbread flavour.
The calendar comes in cheaper than the same ones sold at Sainsbury’s (£10) and Asda (£8), and is on sale now – earlier than its counterparts.
Lidl isn’t the only supermarket chain to sell a food or booze-based advent calendar.
Aldi has brought back its wine-filled festive calendar in time for Christmas.
Behind each of the calendar’s 24 doors you’ll find a mini bottle of booze.
Catering to all tastes, there will be red wines, white wines and even bottles of fizz.
The bottles range in size from 187ml to 200ml.
