Supermarket Lidl is selling a gingerbread-flavoured spread this Christmas and food fans can’t wait to try it.
The Deluxe Gingerbread Flavour Salted Caramel Spread is one of several new festive delights available with the retailer.
The other flavours in the same range, currently priced at £1.99 per jar, are Salted Caramel and Banoffee.

The Instagram account NewfoodsUK posted about the find for its 100k followers, sharing a snap of the three Lidl jars along with the price.
The caption read: “Need to try these! Now available at @lidlgb.”
The account’s followers were well and truly excited by the find.
The great thing about these spreads is that they’re truly versatile.
One tagged a pal and wrote, “Next trip to Lidl” and another said eagerly, “Yes please!”
Someone else, offering a serving suggestion, commented: “I need these on oats.”
“I’m ALL down for the salted caramel,” insisted a fourth.
Another wrote, “Need to try the gingerbread one” and someone else attested, “The gingerbread one is amazing!”

Another Instagram account, at.home.with.the.palmers, also posted about the spreads and described them as “delicious treats”.
And food enthusiast Anna Lewis wrote about them over at Delish.com, calling them “a bit gluttonous” but “versatile”.
Anna said: “The great thing about these spreads is that they’re truly versatile. Yes, you can spread lashings of the stuff on toast, crumpets and bagels.
“But how about drizzling them over pancakes? Or using them as a sauce for your favourite ice cream? And sometimes, when I’m feeling a little under the weather (read: hungover), I just spread them on biscuits. Yeah, it’s a bit gluttonous, but it’s practically Christmas now, right?”
There are a number of salted caramel spreads available right now at the UK’s major supermarkets, but most are more expensive than the £1.99 jars at Lidl.

One from dessert company Gü is available at Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsbury’s for £2.50, while the latter also stocks a jar from Tiptree, priced at £2.30.
Asda, meanwhile, is selling Bonne Maman Salted Caramel spread, normally £2.19 but reduced as of Thursday (07.11.19) to £1.50.
Spreads aren’t the only option when it comes to getting your salted caramel fix.
Marks & Spencer divided its shoppers last month by selling salted caramel tortilla rolls, while Morrisons is offering Baileys’ salted caramel delights.
