Hot on the heels of the news that Tesco will offer nine different types of pigs in blankets this festive season comes the store’s Christmas dessert range.
And the showstopping sweet treats are all set to cost just £10 and under when they launch in December.
With more than half of dessert sales at the supermarket being chocolate flavoured in 2018, chocolate is set to the firm favourite this Christmas.
This year, fans can look forward to a slice of the rich Belgian chocolate ganache Tiffin Star, £10, serves 14, as well as a Rudolf-inspired reindeer smash cake.
Costing just £5, it serves six and features a baked chocolate cheesecake on a digestive biscuit base, covered with silky chocolate ganache and decorated with a pair of chocolate eyes and antlers, topped with a smash-able red nose filled with white chocolate stars.

For those looking for something more decadent, there’s the Finest Millionaires Chocolate Piñata, with a surprise toffee, fudge and caramel-flavoured filling.
Costing £10, it serves eight, with diners having to smash open the dessert to reveal chunks of chocolate sponge, cubes of fudge brownie and a digestive biscuit crumb, all jumbled up with Belgian chocolate sauce, toffee mousse and a salted caramel glaze.

The bite-sized Tesco Finest Black Forest Christmas Tree Pots, £8 for four, go on sale with the rest of the range on December 16.
These individual edible chocolate plant pots are filled with black cherry compote, Belgian chocolate mousse and cookie crumb and decorated with chocolate Christmas trees.
We know hosts are looking to add a little festive sparkle to their Christmas table and the much-anticipated dessert course provides a great opportunity to do this.
The Red Velvet Pots, £8 for four, are another individual dessert featuring a layer of red velvet brownie cubes on top of a tart raspberry compote and covered with a creamy Belgian chocolate custard, gooey brownie pieces and Belgian white chocolate mousse.
Elsewhere, enjoy the Blackcurrant and Winter Spiced Roulade – which is hand-rolled and topped with edible silver sparkle. Or the Tesco Finest Passionfruit Sleigh – which is guided by a pair of chocolate reindeer.
Debbie Walden, dessert product development manager at Tesco, said: “We know hosts are looking to add a little festive sparkle to their Christmas table and the much-anticipated dessert course provides a great opportunity to do this.”
She added: “In 2018, we saw the continuing trend towards highly visual desserts with the ‘wow’ factor such as domes and tortes. Packed full of seasonal flavour, and decorated with holiday shimmer, the theme continues with this year’s range of showstopping desserts to impress guests and get them talking well into the new year.”
