Abbey Clancy’s This Morning interview turns very awkward…

Sexual harassment happens in the modelling industry, she admitted to Phil and Holly

Things got a little emotional – and more than a bit awkward – when Abbey Clancy was asked a question about sexual harassment in the modelling industry recently on This Morning.

The question came in light of the recent shocking stories about widespread sexual assaults and bullying in the entertainment world.

The Britain’s Next Top Model head judge, who was there to promote her show, was posed a question by presenter Phillip Schofield that really caught her off guard…

“Do you ever worry about sending those girls out, whether they’re prepared?” Phil asked.

Clancy looked uncomfortable with the question, and carefully worded her response.

“I think definitely on our show, we put the girls in a safe environment and would never let anything happen to them,” she replied.

“I’ve never come across it personally myself, but hopefully it’ll be okay.”

The star admitted that the world of modelling does have its problems with sexual harassment.

“It’s a terrible thing that’s going on, but it happens,” she said at one point.

Viewers felt the interview was very awkward though, with many voicing how uncomfortable they were on Twitter.

Abbey rose to fame some eleven years ago now when she finished runner-up in the 2006 series of Britain’s Next Top Model, going on to find greater fame as a sometime TV presenter.

She married footballer Peter Crouch in 2011 and the pair are currently expecting their third child. They’re already parents to Sophie, six, and two-year-old Liberty.

Speaking about her husband, she said: “He’s incredible, he does everything, he’s just the most amazing dad.”
