Love Island contestant Adam Collard’s family have reminded viewers the show is “edited” and just one hour from the past 24 is shown on screen.
Gym owner Adam, 22, has emerged as a controversial character in recent days after he ditched partner Rosie Williams, 26, for newcomer Zara McDermott, 21.

Adam was criticised by some viewers for smirking and smiling while a crying Rosie told him he’d broken her heart and embarrassed her.
While Adam’s in the villa, his social media account is being run by loved ones, who shared a message on Wednesday amid all the drama.
The message was shared alongside a throwback picture of Adam pre-villa which read: “Well it’s been an eventful 24 hours 👀
“I think everyone needs to remember that Love Island is a reality game show and everyone only sees 1 hour of edited footage per night.”
It concluded: “Adam is doing what he feels is right for him and it is nice to see someone doing what they actually feel is right as oppose playing up to the cameras (sic).”

Adam’s family previously denied claims they’d posted a tweet criticising his behaviour, after he ditched Rosie for Zara.
The tweet read: “Even us at home really don’t agree with what Adam’s been doing in the house. Actually feel sorry for Rosie. No remorse. Families not happy with his actions (sic).”
However, his loved ones hit back via Instagram, saying: “We have NOT issued this and would NOT condone these comments at all! Say what you will this as a reality game show!”
Adam’s actions have certainly had everyone talking, with even Love Island narrator Iain Stirling branding him a “TV villain” in a recent interview.

On the most recent show, viewers saw Rosie continuing to struggle with Adam’s feelings for Zara, ending up in tears again as Adam and Zara grow closer.
She tried to show Adam what he was missing by donning sexy lingerie for a photoshoot in the garden but her plan backfired when Adam said he didn’t find her posing attractive.
Adam has claimed Rosie pushed him away herself with his behaviour, rather than Zara’s arrival affecting their coupling.
Love Island continues 9pm on ITV2.
