Stacey Solomon addresses how she’ll cope while Joe Swash works on I’m A Celebrity

She was axed from spinoff show Extra Camp after just one year

Stacey Solomon is facing weeks without boyfriend Joe Swash as he gets ready to fly to Australia for I’m A Celebrity duties.

This time last year, Stacey herself was preparing to head to Oz with Joe, as they co-hosted on I’m A Celebrity spinoff show Extra Camp.

But after Stacey was axed from the panel following just one year in the job, this time around it’s only Joe jetting across the world.

So, how will Stacey cope on her lonesome as the dark nights draw in?

According to her, she’ll cope just fine!

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Stacey said: “When we first got together, Joe was in Australia doing the jungle and I went to Miami a couple of days after he got back, so we do know what it’s like to have that time apart.

“Sometimes life just goes so quickly anyway, I know it will be the same when he’s away… we won’t even notice the time go.”

Stacey added: “Joe is lovely and we are really happy. Our relationship is in a lovely place, we really care about each other.”

The mother-of-two previously said she’ll be watching Joe on screen every night from the comfort of her own home – and she’s insisted there are no hard feelings towards the show despite losing her Extra Camp role.

“I’ll definitely miss it loads, but I’m so excited,” she told OK! magazine.

“I love watching it from the comfort of my own home, so I can’t wait to see what the show brings. Every year they do something different, so it is really nice.

“Joe’s so good at it. I’ll be excited to watch it.”

Stacey and Joe worked alongside Vicky Pattison and Chris Ramsey on I’m A Celebrity’s spinoff show, which was renamed Extra Camp last year after previously being called I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here NOW!

Vicky and Chris both said earlier this year they wouldn’t be returning for a second series, meaning Joe is the only one of last year’s panellists back on screen this year.

Joe will be joined by last year’s Queen of the Jungle Scarlett Moffatt and campmate Joel Dommett.

A thrilled Scarlett gushed it’s all a “dream come true”, saying: “It’s going to be so much fun.”

Joel added: “I’m unbelievably excited to be going back into the Jungle for Extra Camp. I can’t blooming wait!”

Meanwhile, we’re still awaiting official news on this year’s celebrity campers, who have yet to be confirmed by ITV.

Rumoured names include WAG Rebekah Vardy, TOWIE star Megan McKenna, Corrie’s Ryan Thomas and tennis legend Boris Becker.

An exact launch date hasn’t been confirmed yet but the show traditionally begins in November.
