Reality TV star Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace has revealed the terrifying health scare she faced after using unregulated weight-loss injections.
The 45 year old has now warned others against taking similar risks.
Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace’s struggle with weight and tragic loss
Former Big Brother star Aisleyne has spoken out about her weight struggles, which were triggered by personal tragedy. The reality star revealed the loss of her best friend and nephew in 2024 left her turning to food for comfort, resulting in significant weight gain.
I was eating my feelings.
She told Closer: “Last year was so tough. I lost my best friend, Femi, and my nephew in quick succession. The grief hit me hard, and I barely left the house. I wasn’t exercising or cooking properly. Instead, I was eating my feelings, ordering takeaways late at night – cakes, pancakes, waffles – you name it.”
This unhealthy lifestyle caused the former model to gain two stone, leading her to try drastic measures to lose weight quickly.
Dangers of black-market Ozempic jabs
In her desperation to shed the extra pounds, Aisleyne decided to turn to Ozempic, a weight-loss drug originally intended for managing diabetes. However, instead of sourcing it through a licensed professional, she purchased a black-market version.
“I was in a desperate situation because losing weight in my forties isn’t easy. For the first three months, it was brilliant. I had no hunger pangs, I wasn’t eating junk food, and I had so much energy. I dropped from a size 12 to an 8 – it felt amazing!”
However, the quick results came at a devastating cost.

Near-death experience
Aisleyne’s health took a sharp downturn three months after starting the injections. She described experiencing severe symptoms that left her bedridden for days.
“I thought I was going to die. I was vomiting, suffering from diarrhoea, and couldn’t stay awake for long. My vision started to blur so badly that I couldn’t even see my phone,” she said.
Despite her deteriorating condition, Aisleyne was too embarrassed to seek medical help, fearing judgment for her use of black-market drugs. Instead, she called a close friend who brought electrolytes and coconut water to help her recover.
Following the ordeal, Aisleyne has warned others to not “cut corners” with their health. She also warned against buying “anything off the black market because you don’t know what’s in it”.
Aisleyne also admitted that after the sudden weight loss, she was left looking like “a deflated balloon”. As a result, she had surgery to “fix it”.
