Alan Carr and husband split

Alan – on screen with his Epic Gameshow this weekend (November 3) – and ex-husband Paul Drayton were together for 13 years. The pair tied the knot in 2018 – and even superstar Adele had officiated their wedding.

Sadly, in January 2022, Alan and Paul announced they had split. A spokesperson said: “They have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go their separate ways.”

During an appearance on Lorraine in April 2022, Alan opened up about his divorce. He explained that the breakdown of their marriage happened at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Dealing with being with each other 24/7 and the stress of the new normal caused an irreparable shift in their marriage, said the comedian at the time.

The pair had been through a lot during their relationship though – from brain surgery to a shock arrest.

Alan Carr husband had brain surgery

In 2021, Paul underwent a life-saving operation – and had to have holes drilled into his skull. Paul shared the news on Instagram at the time.

He wrote: “I have a chronic subdural hematoma. They have to drill two small holes to drain it. Hopefully in the next few days.”

It’s been reported that Paul found out about the issue during a doctor’s appointment. Paul had fallen off a horse and felt like something wasn’t feeling “right”.

Alan Carr’s husband in drink-driving incident

In 2022, Paul was sentenced after he was caught driving over the limit four times. He was accused of drink-driving after reversing into a police car, and almost hit a mum pushing a pram the previous year.

He ended up winning an appeal against his 14-week sentence. This meant that he was released early, and shortly after Paul said he took “full accountability” for his actions.

In a statement on Instagram Paul said: “As you can imagine, this has been an exceptionally challenging time, but I am so grateful for the support and care I’ve received.

“I take full accountability for my actions, but I am so thankful for the opportunity to truly get better and to start my new chapter with strength and determination.”

He then shared how he is “going back to my rehabilitation centre to keep my journey and progress moving forward”.

Alan ‘dating’ toyboy

Late last year, Alan confirmed he had found love again after going ‘Instagram official’ with Callum Heslop. The celebrity hairstylist has worked with several famous faces, including Helen Flanagan and Alan’s good pal, Amanda Holden.

Speaking to The Sun, an insider claimed Alan and Callum, who have a 20-year-far gap, started off as friends. But things soon took a romantic.

“They have a really nice friendship and that has been the base for a relationship to blossom,” the source alleged.

“He meets celebs through his job, so isn’t fazed. It takes a lot to introduce a partner to someone as famous as Adele but she couldn’t have been friendlier,” they added.

Alan splits from younger man

However, a few months later, and at the start of the year, it was reported that Alan and Callum had ended things.

What’s more, speaking to the MailOnline a few months later, Alan confirmed his relationship status. He said: “I’m single again, bloody single.”

He then went on to describe his ideal man and quipped: “I look for a rugby boy. I like them big, and chunky – chunky everywhere. If you catch what I’m saying.”
