Former Hollyoaks actor Ali Bastian has revealed that she is cancer-free after sharing an emotional update with fans.
The 43-year-old actress, who appeared on the Channel 4 soap between 2001 and 2007, announced she had been diagnosed with stage two breast cancer in September. She discovered the news after finding a lump while breastfeeding her baby.
“It was a total shock,” Ali told OK! at the time. “I have mornings when I wake up and I’ve forgotten… and then suddenly I remember. I’m still trying to process it.”

In a positive new update, Ali revealed to her Instagram followers that she is now cancer-free.
To accompany the post, the blonde beauty shared three smiley headshots, two of which were in black and white.
“I wanted to update you all. I’m on to my final week of radiotherapy which should mark the end my active treatment – I hope and pray for good! I had my mastectomy in January which was thankfully a success and has healed really well, it proved that my chemo had worked,” the mum-of-two wrote.
“As I sit here right now, I’m free from cancer. I can’t even believe it. I have the most incredible team at CUH and I’m so grateful for every single one of them. The nurses who have given me compassion, time and space to share and talk about my experience of a very challenging treatment pathway… one that although we thank god exists, is not only a lot for the body to process but an awful lot to process mentally and emotionally.”
As she continued to thank the “incredible men and women” who dedicate their work to cancer patients, Ali said to “be coming out of the other side of this feels unreal” following her shock diagnosis.
The former Strictly contestant insisted the “road back to my life won’t be a linear one”. However, she is “so grateful” for all the support she has received.

Following the heartwarming post, many of Ali’s fans took to the comments section to share a message.
