It sounds like the bubbly was flowing freely at last night’s Virgin Holidays Attitude Awards.
And Amanda Holden had clearly been cutting loose at the bar, as she made some extremely out-there comments while picking up the prestigious “Honorary Gay” award.
The star was being commended for her support of LGBT acts while judging ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent.
And when she reached the podium, she described to the flabbergasted crowd how she and her husband Chris Hughes have been having ‘gay sex’ for years.
Explaining what she meant, she went on to detail “Now that I am an honorary gay, I can’t wait to have honorary gay sex. Though I suppose, being an honorary gay is not actually being gay.
“So honorary gay sex means not actually having sex. In which case, I’ve been married to my husband for 15 years and I’ve got two kids, so I’ve been having honorary gay sex for years!”
As the audience roared with laughter, she continued her speech with: “This [award] also means that I’ll be able to go cottaging. See you on Hampstead Heath!”

And then things took a turn for the even more bizarre, with Amanda letting the audience know the current state of her nether regions.
She quipped: “But actually if I did turn up on Hampstead Heath at midnight, the last thing you’d be expecting if you’re hiding in a bush, is a bush.
“I’m joking – there’s nothing down there. I found one grey hair about four years ago and I was like, goodbye!”
She nearly proved the point when exiting a taxi later in the evening, as her dress slipped open to reveal a pair of nude pants beneath.
However, Amanda’s speech wasn’t all fun and games. She took the opportunity to discuss more serious points such as homophobia in other countries.
She said: “Great strides have been made in recent years but you just have to look at places like Russia and Uganda where being gay is a crime that is punishable by death,” she went on.
“You hear about transgender people being banned from the army in America, the land of the free for god’s sake, don’t make me laugh.”

She finished her heartfelt speech by paying tribute to the assembled throng, saying: “We have to accept people for who they are, let them be who they are, let them love who they want. I really am proud to be an honorary member of this community and the honour is all mine.”
Sounds like Amanda had a terrific night – and she’s a well worthy winner of her award!
