Amanda Holden may be a judge on one of TV’s biggest and most popular talent shows and a successful actress to boot, but there’s still one career ambition she’s yet to tick off her bucket list.
The Britain’s Got Talent star has admitted she’d love to follow in the footsteps of Dame Barbara Windsor and appear in a Carry On movie!
Amanda, 46, told Daily Star: “People always say I should have been in the Carry On films. I just hope I haven’t missed my chance to star in one.”

A source told the paper that Amanda is “keen to get back into comedy” after taking a break from acting to focus on her other work projects and raising her children.
“She loves the British sense of humour so doing a Carry On film would be perfect,” said the insider. “They’d be mad not to snap her up. She loves sticking an innuendo in.”
The Carry On franchise of 31 films ran from 1958 until 1992, when the final film in the series, Carry on Columbus, was released.
In 2016, plans were announced to bring back the beloved series with two new Carry On movies that would go into production this year: Carry On Doctors and Carry On Campus.
Producer Jonathan Sothcott said at the time: “We won’t be trying to find new Sids or Kenneths – we’re looking to create a whole new ensemble of brilliant British comedic actors. No stunt casting. No big American stars.
“This will be British film at its best, as the truly remarkable heritage deserves.”
However, there was a blow for fans in April when Sothcott admitted in an interview with The Hollywood News that his attempts to bring back Carry On had been a “waste of time.”
“What an absolute waste of time that was,” he said.

“Every few years there’s talk of a new Carry On film that comes to nothing. I honestly thought that I was the guy to get it going. The rights are an utter nightmare and trying to line up all of the relevant parties is like herding cats.
“Eventually I just had to walk away. It’s a shame: I think it could’ve worked.
“The saddest thing is that I really, truly love the old Carry On movies – they were a staple of my childhood and I really wanted to do them proud.
“But there’s no use crying over spilled milk – you can only go forwards in life, never backwards.”
