Loose Women panellist Andrea McLean has revealed the reason why fellow co-star Ruth Langsford didn’t take part in the body image campaign.
Ruth, 57, was left in the firing line after fans spotted she didn’t strip down for the photo shoot despite being a major part of the talk show.

But now, during a live Facebook interview with Dan Wootton, Andrea, along with Linda Robson and Janet Street Porter, addressed the issue.
Talking about Ruth’s absence from the campaign Andrea, 47, revealed: “It is really straightforward. We were not chosen, we were all asked if we wanted to be involved but not everyone was available on the day.”
Panellist Linda Robson added: “Ruth was probably doing This Morning on that day – and that’s why she wasn’t there but all of the Loose Women stars were asked.”
The Loose ladies posed in their swimsuits alongside their co-stars Katie Price, Coleen Nolan, Nadia Sawahla and Jane Moore.
Janet, 70, admitted she found the shoot “traumatic” as she said: “The reason for doing it was a really, really good one, but the experience was a bit traumatic because it’s not something I would have ordinarily done.”

Despite being uncomfortable with showing off their bodies to the world fans showered the stars with praise.
Writing on Twitter one said: “Well done to all the #LooseWomen for doing the photoshoot. You all look amazing and should be proud of your bodies.”
Another wrote: “What an inspiration #LooseWomen…#greatbodys…you all look amazing, beautiful and #real.”
“#MyBodyMyStory #LooseWomen well done ladies you look amazing,” said one.
Meanwhile others didn’t seem so supportive and slammed the panellists for being “caked in make-up”.
One wrote: “#LooseWomen “keep it real”???? Putting makeup on before the shoot??? Not exactly real is it.”
“‘Love your body’ whilst being caked in make up for a photo shoot who’s pictures were released in black & white. Right you are, #LooseWomen [sic],” said another.
A third tweeted: “#LooseWomen full of makeup and and hair done how is this realistic?”
