Loose Women star Andrea McLean revealed on today’s show that she’d tried to ELOPE with her partner, businessman Nick Feeney, and get married in secret – only to have her plans scuppered by red tape.
Looking bronzed and healthy, the 47-year-old Scot gave a cheeky grin as she told her fellow panellists that she’d just returned from holiday.
Naturally, they thought she was about to make an announcement. And although she didn’t, she revealed that she’d hoped to.
Coleen Nolan looked as if she was about to burst with excitement as she asked the former weather reporter: “Did you?!”
“No… but we wanted to and we couldn’t,” replied Andrea sadly. “You have to be really boring and organise it before you get there.”
Having met through mutual friends, Andrea and Nick got engaged after Nick proposed in Paris earlier this month.
And they decided that a summer break with Andrea’s two children from previous relationships – son Finlay and daughter Amy – was the perfect opportunity to seal the deal.

“We want to get married with just the children, and we’d already planned a family holiday anyway, so we thought we’d give it a go,” Andrea revealed on the show.
But although the couple will have to wait for their big day, they can take consolation from the fact that they’re en vogue.
“Apparently, I’m bang on trend because it’s really in fashion to head off and runaway and… just think of yourself, really,” she told the other women.
Andrea, who’s been married twice before – to BBC producer Nick Green and Our House presenter Steve Toms – announced the news of her engagement via Twitter on 2nd August.
Alongside a pic of herself with Nick, in which she was showing off a gleaming engagement ring, she wrote: “Something happened.”

Fans responded by showering the couple with good wishes.
One wrote: “Awwww, let me cry right now. I’m so so happy for you. You deserve all the happiness in the world, genuinely.”
And another told the bride-to-be: “You were like a cream bun in the shop window. You were going to be snapped up sooner than later!!”
Well, when she eventually gets her dream wedding, that’ll be the icing on the cake.
