In news to brighten up your Monday morning, presenter Angela Scanlon has confirmed some happy news – she’s given birth to a baby girl!
Posting a cute picture of tiny feet to Twitter and Instagram, the One Show and Robot Wars host announced: “Ruby Ellen Horgan… Born 25.02.18 at 3.29am – she is a dreamboat & we are so happy this little woman is ours.”
She added: “Welcome to the world, peach 🍑💋💫👣💚”.
Her 94.6k followers rushed to congratulate the TV star, writing: “Congratulations to you both and hello Ruby.”
Another commented: “Awwwwww huge congrats to you both! & well done you Mama Bear! 🤗.”
A third added: “Congratulations sweet, so beautiful. Children are life changing such an amazing feeling. Hope you are getting some sleep and feeding is going ok. Warm wishes. 🧡.”

The popular Irish presenter announced her pregnancy last November.
The star of those Garnier Nutrisse adverts posted a cute picture to Instagram, writing: “SO. I’ve been baking for 6 months now… and I’ve made a bun! It’s currently in the oven & will be ready by Springtime.
“We are so, SO thrilled (since I’ve taken my head out of the toilet bowl) and can’t wait to welcome a mad, wonderful little human into our world.”
She added: “Really hoping he/she is ginger.”
Since then, Angela has shared her pregnancy on Instagram, recently adding a photo with her hair-advert-pals, Davina McCall and Holly Willoughby.
Beside a photo of the presenters hugging her, Angela wrote: “Day spent with my favourite hairy, fairy godmothers @hollywilloughby & @davinamccall 💚 At the very least TV listings are sorted for this little nugget!!! 🙏🏻.”
She added, “#itsthefinalcountdown.”
But it looked like the waiting was getting to her just two days before she gave birth, as she took to Instagram to post a picture of the words, “good things take time.”
In the caption she added: “Patience has NEVER been my strong suit. I want everything yesterday & I am very frustrated with myself when things don’t happen quickly enough 😤 Anyone??!
“These last few months I’ve learned that working on something slowly & steadily is a different thing. It’s so easy to judge your life on the ‘wins’ but actually having a BIG plan is the thing that keeps me sane (a little bit sane anyway)! 🙏🏻
“That & marshmallows & tea.”
The Radio 2 presenter has been a regular fixture, alongside Matt Baker, on The One Show since 2015. And for most of last year, she covered the maternity leave of full-time presenter, Alex Jones.
Now it’s her turn to take mat leave – but we’ll no doubt see Angela back on our screens in the near future.
Congratulations!
