The Chase’s Anne Hegerty has opened up about her past romances and explained that they often didn’t work out because she would become “claustrophobic” in the relationship.
The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star appeared on Loose Women today (29 January) to talk about life after the jungle but talk soon turned to her love life.
The 60-year-old explained that she has dated men in the past, contrary to some of the reports she has read about herself, but she would back off if she felt things got too intense.
Reminiscing about one particular romance, she said: “Wait, he wants to call me every day? Every single day?!”
Anne, who has opened up about living with Asperger’s syndrome, said that she would prefer to keep someone she’s dating at “arms’ length”.
She added: “I prefer being contacted in writing.”
The TV star then laughed at her own comment and said: “That sounds incredibly formal!”
But Anne also admitted that it’s a case of “never say never” to dating these days.

The quiz master also confirmed that she isn’t leaving her role as The Governess on The Chase, despite ongoing rumours.
Anne said she was looking forward to continuing with the ITV daytime show, however, she did admit she has enjoyed people getting to see the “real” her, and not just her on screen character, since her stint in the jungle.
