Piers Morgan has admitted he’s “annoyed” that Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly won Best Presenter at the National Television Awards last night.
The Geordie duo bagged the award even though Ant, 41, took an extended break from work commitments last year.
Ahead of the ceremony at London’s O2 Arena last night, Piers had tweeted that he would take next year off and “walk my dog” if Ant and Dec won the award, after claiming Ant has just been “walking his dog for a year”.

After Ant and Dec won the gong, Piers made a swipe at Ant, tweeting: “Does anyone have a dog I can borrow? #NTAs #Ant.”

And during Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain, Piers continued his rant and told viewers he was “still annoyed” over the outcome.
He said: “It was Ant McPartlin’s speech that really cemented it for me. You mean, seriously, he hasn’t been on TV for a year. The only time he gets out of bed in the morning is to walk the dog!
“Why did Ant and Dec win? I get why Dec won but why did Ant AND Dec win? He hasn’t done any work for a year.
“Whatever they do, they win in year in year out. He could do an Andi Peters and sleep in a hammock on a beach for a year.”
Last night, The Britain’s Got Talent hosts were not at London’s The O2 to hear they had picked up the accolade.
Shocked to find out they won the award, Ant said: “Oh wow. Wow. Thank you. Thank you, thank you, very much. This is a genuine shock, especially this year, I’m shaking here. I want to say thank you to everybody.
“I don’t feel I can accept this award this year, the one reason we got it because of this guy, his hard work, dedication, wit, funniness and being the best mate there is, I love you, well done.”
Dec added: “Thank you, thank you to everyone who sent kind and thoughtful messages while I was flying the flag for the two of us, I’ve got him back now.”
Meanwhile, on GMB, Piers branded the NTAs a “joke” over some of the other wins last night.
Thank you doesn’t seem to cover it this year. We are humbled and honoured. We are so appreciative of your continued support and good wishes, they are never taken for granted. Thank u again. Now back to #BGT auditions! D x #NTAs pic.twitter.com/rCzle3FmuM

He ranted: “The NTAs have become a bit of a joke. Holly [Willoughby] and Phil [Schofield] have won for nine years. It must be as boring for the viewers.
“It’s the same old people, they’ve all got the same management company. Ant and Dec, Holly and Phil, same management company.”
