Bradley Wiggins’ time on The Jump could be coming to an early end after he injured his calf on the first episode of the new series.
The champion cyclist is just one of the famous faces taking part in the Channel 4 show this year, with Spencer Matthews, Lydia Bright and Emma Parker Bowles also trying their luck on the Austrian slopes.
Bradley had a tough fight on the first episode when he took on the parallel slalom alongside comedian Mark Dolan.
And while Bradley emerged victorious, his win wasn’t without a sacrifice.
On top of nursing an injured ankle from training, Bradley then tore his calf muscle on the slalom.
He was rushed to a doctors and dosed up with painkillers, but is taking it easy as he heads into the second week of the competition.
“Bradley was gutted to have sustained an injury and is doing all he can to stay in the process,” a source told The Sun newspaper.
“He was taken to see a doctor and given painkillers.
“But Bradley’s as hard as nails so bosses think he will be fine to carry on – as long as he doses himself up regularly.”
Bosses are sure to be hoping Bradley can push through the pain and continue on the show, as they’ve already had one celebrity pull out – Vogue Williams.
The Irish model and presenter had been hoping to win the show, after previously being named the winner of Bear Grylls: Mission Survive in 2015.
But it wasn’t to be, as Vogue injured her knee after falling heavily during training.
After host Davina McCall urged Vogue to watch the moment she fell and hurt herself, the stunning blonde burst into tears and told her:
“It’s so disappointing. I feel so upset after watching that. It’s been the best four weeks, I’m so disappointed. I’ve made really good friends.”
