Ant and Dec are considering marking the 20th anniversary of SM:TV Live by hosting a revival.
The duo presented the morning programme alongside Cat Deeley from 1998 to 2001, and contributed to it becoming ITV’s most successful children’s programme since Tiswas.
And as the show celebrates 20 years since its premiere next year, the Geordie pair are talking to bosses about potentially returning for an anniversary special.
“It’s funny because we were talking to somebody about this recently because it’s twenty years since the launch of SM:TV next year,” Ant told the Metro newspaper.
“So, we were saying whether we could do an anniversary special or something, and we got carried away with the idea.
“If we did a one off, it would be on at 9.25am, with (regular segment) C.H.U.M.S and all that, and get Cat back!”
Dec added: “We’re floating it about a few people at the moment, and we’re getting some positive responses so far.”
Cat has been living in Los Angeles for the past few years, and gave birth to son Milo, her first child with husband Patrick Kielty, in January, 2016.
Since their SM: TV days, Ant and Dec have gone on to become the most popular and successful presenting duo in the U.K., winning countless awards.
As well as hosting I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Britain’s Got Talent, their variety show Saturday Night Takeaway is now in its 14th series.
Michelle Keegan was this evening’s guest announcer, and Robbie Williams was one of the stars involved in their hilarious ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Out of Me Ear’ segment.
The skit involved Ant and Dec talking to Robbie and his wife Ayda via in-ear microphones, giving them crazy instructions. Ant thinks it’s one of the best to date.
“They bought a pub, and they want to have a party so we get party planners round, and we’re in their ear all the way through the interview process.
It’s random stuff like we bring out two ferrets and Rob has to walk the ferrets, and we named them after members of Take That. We know how far to push Rob,” Ant laughed.
