Well, now we hear that Stephen Mulhern is set to host even more shows than he already does.

As we all know, he’s the presenter of light entertainment shows such as Big Star’s Little Star, Catchphrase, Pick Me!, The Next Great Magician and obviously Britain’s Got More Talent.

Now he is apparently in talks to host a Saturday Night Takeaway spin-off show.

According to reports, his mates Ant and Dec were so impressed with his In For a Penny, In For a Grand segment on the show that they have asked ITV to turn it into a series.

If you can’t remember – or had popped out at the time – this was the on-the-street game show where Stephen would set the public a challenge with the aim of winning £1,000 cash.

“We’re trying to make In For a Penny, In For a Grand its own game show,” he told The Sun.

“Ant and Dec asked me to do it, which is really exciting. I just knew it was a winner. It’s gone down well.

“We’re hoping to get it off the ground later this year.

But that’s not all.

He also revealed that Big Star’s Little Star is set to undergo a make over.

Because it was hard to get good stories out of the little kids, producers have decided to do a spin off in which celebs introduce us to THEIR parents!

Good idea, no?

The idea is to have mums and dads of big stars sharing their kids’ embarrassing stories! And Stephen thinks a genius idea!

“It’s hilarious. I’m hoping David Walliams and Ant and Dec will sign up,” he says hopefully, spinning out the usual suspects.

“David would have enough embarrassing moments to fill a whole series.

“We just need some time to work on it. Ideally, we’d make the cash prizes bigger too, just to up the ante.”

Stephen, who started out as magician on kids’ TV, says he would be happy to be the face of family telly like Bruce Forsyth and Michael Barrymore before him.

“I love working with members of the public and I think you can have a lot of fun with them,” he said.

“When you think back to the golden days of TV with Bruce Forsyth doing the Generation Game or Michael Barrymore doing My Kind of People, they had great interaction with the public.

“Real people are so much fun — there’s no airs and graces, like with celebrities.”
