Being nominated for a TV BAFTA should be a cause for celebration, but it could lead to an awkward encounter for Britain’s Got Talent star Ant McPartlin.
Instead of keeping his fingers crossed that he wins one of the four awards he’s nominated for on the night, he may be hoping that he doesn’t bump into his estranged wife Lisa Armstrong on the red carpet of the prestigious Nominees Party on April 25.
Make-up artist Lisa was thrilled to receive a nod for the Best Entertainment Craft Team for her work on Strictly Come Dancing. She told her Twitter followers: “Thank you guys so proud!!! Big kisses xx.”
However, with Ant and his presenting partner Declan Donnelly being nominated for Entertainment Performance and Entertainment Programme for Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Reality & Constructed Factual for I’m A Celebrity – Get Me Out Of Here! and Entertainment Programme for BGT, both he and Lisa will receive invites to the BAFTA party.

The night will mark Ant’s first red-carpet event since his return to work following his addiction problems and arrest for drink-driving. It’s thought his girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett will be by his side on the night.
Anne-Marie used to work as a PA to Ant and Lisa and was friends with Lisa before being linked to Ant.
To add to Ant and Lisa’s potential BAFTA awkwardness, the couple’s divorce is set to be finalised around the time of the party.
Plus fans really aren’t so sure that Ant should even be up for one of the gongs, after Holly Willoughby took over his presenting role on I’m A Celebrity while he was in recovery.
Taking to Twitter, fans lashed out: “So Ant and Dec get a BAFTA TV nod for the last year. No sign of Holly Willoughby.”

Another said: “Time for someone new. Ant and Dec no longer original and shouldn’t be nominated.”
Opinions of the general public aside, both Ant and Lisa should be able to breathe a sign of relief when it comes to hopefully collecting their gongs.
Because Lisa’s is a Craft Awards nomination, her ceremony will take place two weeks earlier than the main event, on April 28, while the TV BAFTAs ceremony takes place on May 12. However, Lisa could still be in attendance on Ant’s big night.
Her show Strictly Come Dancing is also nominated for a BAFTA for Best Entertainment Programme, a category which will see the show pitted against two of Ant and Dec’s. It could be about to get interesting…
Will Ant’s red-carpet comeback go as planned or will it end in a rather awkward encounter? We’ll just have to wait and see.
