Ant McPartlin’s court hearing following his drink-drive charge has been postponed.
The TV presenter was due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 4, charged with the offence.
But a spokeswoman for the court said the hearing had been adjourned with a new date yet to be set.
Ant, 42, was charged by postal requisition on March 21, after allegedly being involved in a collision with two other cars while he was driving his Mini in Richmond, west London, on March 18.
After he was charged, ITV announced that Ant’s telly co-presenter Declan Donnelly would go on to present the end of the current series of Saturday Night Takeaway on his own.
Ant has returned to treatment and stepped down from current TV commitments.
His publicist said at the time: “Ant has decided to go back into treatment and step down from his current TV commitments. He has spoken with Dec and ITV and asked for time off for the foreseeable future.”
An episode of Saturday Night Takeaway was cancelled after Ant’s arrest, but it returned to the air on March 31.
During the last episode, Dec joked he had “twice the amount of work to do”, and at one point said: “I’ll have to do it myself, like everything else this week.”
He also thanked viewers and fans for their support.
The episode was the second most viewed of the series, bested by the 7.8 million that watched the show’s 100th episode on March 3, but bagged the biggest audience share of the series, the broadcaster said.
The show’s highest audience share before Saturday night was on February 24, when it pulled in 37%.
Overnight figures include those watching on ITV +1.
Saturday Night Takeaway wraps its current series this Saturday evening, with an episode broadcast live from Florida.
