Alana Spencer, the winner this year’s series of The Apprentice, may have been as quiet as a mouse for much of the series, but that hasn’t stopped her from taking a wee pop at two of her glam castmates.
The triumphant baker, who beat rival Courtney Wood, has hit out at Jessica Cunningham (below) and Frances Bishop for posing for saucy underwear shoots just days after being fired from the hit BBC show.
And Alana has assured her new business partner Lord Sugar that she has no intention of following suit.
When asked about her rivals’ revealing lingerie pict, the tasty cakemaker said: “Oh God no, I wouldn’t do what they’ve done. I would absolutely not do that.
“The world is not ready to see me in a bikini if I’m honest.
“All it should come down to is work ethic and business plans.
“If women want to look good and feel better by putting on a bit of make-up and wearing nice clothes, then all power to them. But I don’t think looks should have any bearing.”
The shy business woman also laughed off recent comments made by Lord Sugar’s former aide Nick Hewer that Apprentice producers have previously asked Lord Sugar NOT to fire blonde contestants.
“It’s flattering that people think I’m in there because of looks, but I don’t think it has anything to do with it.” she told The Sun.
“It’s down to business plans and how hard you work throughout the tasks.”
Meanwhile, in addition to her plans to grow her cake company with Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment, Alana says she is also hoping to work with Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown, sparking rumours they could be part of the new look series when it moves to Channel 4.
“She’s given me some advice and said, ‘Don’t take anything to heart that you see on Twitter’. She’s really sweet.”
