Leanne Battersby/Tilsley/Barlow has had more than her fair share of drama in her time on the cobbles, but so far she’s remained a regular face on Coronation Street for over 20 years.
However actress Jane Danson has revealed that may not always be the case as she could be killed off at any time.

Her history includes prostitution, drug addiction, adulterer, abused stepmum, and hard-done-by wife.
More recently she’s been at the centre of a plot which has seen her have a baby fathered by mate Michelle Connor’s husband, Steve McDonald.
Steve and Leanne pretended Lee’s fiancé Nick was the dad, but when Michelle tragically lost her own baby with Steve at 23 weeks, and then Steve held Leanne’s baby Oliver in his arms, he couldn’t keep up the lie any longer.
Confessing Oli was his son, the fallout was huge, and Nick is really struggling with having Steve so involved in the little one’s life.
We know that the plot is set to lead to Nick’s exit after actor Ben Price quit the show to spend more time with his family, but will it also lead to Leanne’s departure too?
Speaking to Woman magazine, she explained:
“I don’t take anything for granted. Next year they might say: ‘We’re killing Leanne off, she’s had too many disasters.’
“I just want to be happy and I’ve been so fortunate to have a job that I love.”

They wouldn’t get rid of her in such a final way, would they? Surely not.
The Leanne we’ve been seeing for the last few years has been a much softer version of the brash, confident lass who arrived in Weatherfield alongside the infamous Battersby clan in 1997.
And Jane admitted to the mag that she’s keen for that to change now.
“The last couple of years have been quite tricky for Leanne and she’s gone from one disaster to another.
“But rather than being miserable, we’re getting a little bit of the feisty Leanne of old, which I’ve been championing for quite a while.”
She added: “She might look a little frail at times, but underneath it all she’s pretty tough, and I’m trying to inject a little bit of that back because that’s the essence of who she is.”
With her being at the centre of the action, we reckon she’s pretty safe from the hit list, and we can’t see that changing any time soon.
