Ashley Roberts has finally spoken out, after it was announced that Scarlett Moffatt would be replacing her on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
The former Pussycat Doll had worked alongside the Geordie duo for three years, but was told by ITV bosses last month that she wouldn’t be returning.
Instead the job has gone to Gogglebox star and Queen of the I’m A Celebrity jungle Scarlett.
And while the American could understandably be sad to have lost the prime-time presenting gig to the young newcomer, Ashley insists there’s no bad blood between them.
“I hope Scarlett has fun with them. There’s nothing but well wishes,” the 35-year-old told BANG Showbiz.

“I don’t really know Scarlett. I didn’t watch the Jungle, and I haven’t really seen her so I don’t really know her personally.
“But I’m sure the boys are going to have fun with her, and she’ll have such a fun time.”
And Ashley added that she was sure Scarlett’s Geordie connection would help in her new role.
“I know they’ll probably have a good time and have the same banter,” she explained. “I absolutely love and adore those boys and we’ve all talked.
“It’s been a great run. I did four seasons with the boys and it’s been awesome, I love them to pieces.
“I’ve known for a little while. Everybody reached out to me and we all had a nice discussion and it was handled well. Again, good wishes.”

The new series of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway starts this weekend. And despite no longer working on the show, Ashley says she will still be watching.
“I’m sure, if I’m in London and sitting alone on a Saturday, I’ll tune in for sure. They’re really funny.”
