Barbara Windor’s heartbreaking apology to husband Scott after Alzheimer’s diagnosis
During a segment on Loose Women today (February 20), the panelists discussed how easy it is to find joy with a serious illness.
Jane Moore, who was a close friend of Barbara’s, opened up about the late star’s diagnosis and her heartbreaking words to her husband Scott when she found out about her illness.
“I remember when Barabra, I mean, Scott’s told this story, but when Barbara got her diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, the first thing she did, she leaned over to Scott and she went, ‘I’m so sorry!'”
Jane revealed the heartbreaking moment whilst leaning forward and holding onto fellow panelist Nadia Sawahla’s wrist.
In response, Nadia exclaimed: “Awww!”
Jane explained that Barabara “knew what was coming” for Scott because she was “very much still aware at the time” of the effects of the illness.
She continued: “She knew it was going to be a very difficult path for him, which I thought was such an incredible comment. She didn’t think about herself, she thought about him.”
Describing Scott’s support for Barbara as “amazing”, Jane stated that their whole home was “adapted” to suit her condition.

Scott raised more than £160k for Alzheimer’s Research UK

In memory of her, he ran wearing a t-shirt where she was featured across the front.
In August of that year, Scott, who married Barbara in 2000, became an ambassador of the charity.
He raised over £160,000 in total. He also previously ran the London Marathon in 2019 for the charity.
