Former EastEnders star Dame Barbara Windsor has revealed the reason why she never had children.
With her new BBC biopic Babs, which will look at her rise to fame and the darker side to her life approaching, the star has spoken about some of her hardest moments.

Barbara, who is best known for playing Easties’ Peggy Mitchell, opened up about having her first abortion at 20 and how she felt after having five terminations in total.
The 79-year-old revealed: “I knew it was wrong, against what you should do.”
But speaking to The Sun Barbara revealed she doesn’t regret not having children.
She said: “I consider myself to be a warm and lovely person but I never had any maternal feelings. Neither did my mother, so that message was constantly fed to me as a child.”
The Carry On star also spoke about her first marriage to Ronnie Knight.
Barbara tied the knot with gangster Ronnie in 1964 and speaking about the relationship the star admitted: “My mother never told me anything about the facts of life.
“It was ridiculous. I’d make a mistake then go straight on and do it again. I was so naive.”

The actress is now happily married to Scott Mitchell.
