Is this not the biggest news of 2017 so far?!
We’ve had to wait a whopping 16 years but the nation has now been told that Blue Planet 2 is coming back.
It was originally called ‘Ocean’, but Blue Planet 2 seemed more apt apparently.

The stunning seven-part series will mark 20 years since the channel’s natural history unit first set out to explore never-before-seen wildlife in the deepest and darkest realms of the world’s oceans.
Sir David Attenborough can’t wait to bring the series back after all this time!
The 90-year-old said: “I am truly thrilled to be joining this new exploration of the underwater worlds which cover most of our planet yet are still its least-known.”
What people haven’t realised is that the Beeb have been filming the series for four years and have been exploring every sea and ocean.
Technology has also vastlty improved since the first series, so everybody is incredibly excited to see what new techniques the crew have been using.
Can you imagine watching it on a 4K TV?
Viewers are said to experience footage from cameras suckered to the backs of whale sharks and orcas, front-on Ultra High Definition images of predatory fish and dolphins, AND a special probe cam that puts us practically in among the tiny creatures of the deep.
Conservation is also an important part of Blue Planet 2.
Executive producer James Honeyborne said: “The oceans are the most exciting place to be right now, because new scientific discoveries have given us a new perspective of life beneath the waves.
Blue Planet 2 is taking its cue from these breakthroughs, unveiling unbelievable new places, extraordinary new behaviours and remarkable new creatures.
“Showing a contemporary portrait of marine life, it will provide a timely reminder that this is a critical moment for the health of the world’s oceans.”
There seem to be a lot of brand new creatures too.
These include the brilliantly-named Hoff crab (they have very hairy chests), spitting snub fin dolphins and tool-using tusk fish.
Don’t even get us started on the underwater volcanoes…
