BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker teases “big offer” after signing up to ITV daytime show

He remained tight-lipped about his fellow celebrity contestants

BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker has revealed he’s crossing over to ITV for the celebrity version of The Chase.

The presenter, 42, shared the news on social media earlier today (April 16th) and confirmed he’ll be appearing on the hit quiz show either later this year or the start of next year.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Dan waved at the camera and told his followers: “Hello everyone. About to go on the Chase. The ‘celebrity’ Chase.

“I can’t tell you who I’m on with. You’ll be able to see it at the end of year or the start of next year.”

He continued: “The big question is, though – low offer, middle offer or big offer? We’ll see.”

Commenting on the clip on Twitter, ITV’s official account insisted he should go for the high offer, adding with a wink emoji: “But don’t blame us if it all goes wrong.”

The Chase quizzer Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan offered a rather sinister comment, laughing evilly: “Mwahahaha.”

Most of Dan’s fans likewise implored him to take the highest prize offered by the Chaser, with one commenting: “Go big. You’ll always wonder otherwise.”

Another replied: “Big offer Dan, Big offer. What’s that they say? He who dares wins.”

A third told him: “Go high or go home.”

Confirmation of Dan’s upcoming appearance on The Chase follows reports last year that bosses of Strictly Come Dancing were desperate to get him on the competition alongside Good Morning Britain‘s Piers Morgan.

The rivals were involved in a light-hearted feud last year that saw them taking jocular swipes at one another on their respective shows and social media channels, including a challenge from Piers for them to have it out on Strictly.

Dan later rejected Piers’ offer, laughing it off in an interview with Strictly pros Karen and Kevin Clifton and telling them: “It’s not going to happen.”

A previous Mirror report suggested Strictly bosses wanted to sign them because of their feud, which started after Piers mocked Dan’s viewing figures.
