Former BBC newsreader Peter Sissons has died at the age of 77.
Peter was a host on BBC Nine O’Clock News and the BBC Ten O’Clock News between 1993 and 2003.
He has also been a newsreader for ITN, hosting segments on ITV and Channel 4.

Peter has also been a presenter on BBC’s Question Time.
He retired from the BBC in 2009.
His agent confirmed Peter passed away on October 2, 2019.
Tributes have already began pouring in on Twitter.
One fan wrote: “RIP #PeterSissons Thank you for making the news, and #QuestionTime politics interesting and enjoyable to watch. 77 is no age these days. Another sad loss for 2019.”
