Beyoncé and Jay Z haven’t disappointed fans when choosing the names of their newborn baby twins, opting for two rather unusual and oh-so-celebrity monikers.
The superstar couple are believed to have chosen the names Sir Carter and Rumi Carter for their little girl and boy, as revealed in trademark documents filed in a US court.
Well, with their first child named Blue Ivy Carter they were never going to opt for anything less than unique, right?
Of course, there’s been loads of speculation about the reasons why Beyoncé and Jay Z chose Sir and Rumi for their new arrivals.
The general consensus seems to be Sir just sounds pretty cool, while Rumi could be inspired by a 13th century poet of that same name.
E! News also points out Rumi is used in Japan as a reference to beauty, current, flow and water.

It’s unlikely we’ll get the real answer anytime soon about the baby name inspo, as Bey and Jay have yet to actually even confirm the birth of the twins themselves.
It was Beyoncé’s proud dad Matthew Knowles who broke the happy news to the Beyhive via a congratulatory Instagram post in June.
He posted a “Happy birthday to the twins!” card alongside the caption: “They’re here!”

According to US reports, the music power couple filed documents on June 26 to secure trademark rights to the names Sir Carter and Rumi Carter across a range of products including baby items such as teething rings and prams, fragrances, cosmetics and water bottles.
Meanwhile, it’s not just the couple’s babies that are making headlines this week.
Jay Z dropped his long awaited 4:44 album on Friday and immediately raised eyebrows thanks to certain lyrics that appear to confirm he cheated on Beyonce.
Lyrics that allude to infidelity include: “I apologise, often womanise / Took my child to be born, see through a woman’s eyes / Took for these natural twins to believe in miracles / Took me too long for this song. I don’t deserve you.”
He also raps: “If my children knew, I don’t even know what I would do / If they ain’t look at me the same, I would probably die with all the shame / You did what with who? What good is a ménage a trois when you have a soulmate / You risked that for Blue?”

The infamous ‘Becky With The Good Hair’ also gets a namecheck in response. The never identified Becky first popped up on Beyoncé’s visual album Lemonade last year, kickstarting all the cheating rumours in the first place.
Jay Z raps in one song: “Let me alone Becky!”
The rapper has never publicly addressed the infidelity speculation and neither has Beyoncé, with both preferring to let their music do the talking.
