Hardcore Beyonce fans appeared to cut themselves and post pictures online – in an apparent show of support after the singer accidentally cut her ear on stage during a concert.
The Lemonade singer’s long braid got caught on one of her earrings and ripped it from her ear, as she performed her hit Haunted at Jay Z’s Tidal X benefit concert in New York.
The mishap did not faze the star who remained calm and continued with her performance – much to the delight of fans.
Members of her ever-loyal ‘Beyhive’ immediately took to Twitter to congratulate the singer for carrying on with the show.
But then some fans appeared to take their loyalty too far by cutting themselves and posting the bloody pictures on Twitter.
The hashtags #CutForBeyonce and #BleedforBeyonce began surfacing on the social network – along with gruesome pictures.
One fan tweeted a picture of a bleeding arm with the caption:“If the queen bleeds the hive must unify and leak our blood to restore her spirits. Beyhive we must #CutForBeyonce.”
Another wrote: “If Beyoncé bleeds we bleed #cutforbeyonce.”
Although some of the pictures are clearly fake – some look scarily real.
As the chilling hashtags began so trend – people begged the so-called super fans to stop.
One wrote: “As a person who self injured for years. Please don’t #CutforBeyonce or #BleedforBeyonce. Self injury and cutting is not a joke.”
It’s not the first time the #CutforBeyonce or #BleedforBeyonce have surfaced – they also popped up in 2013 when the pop star didn’t win an award she was nominated for.
