Britain’s Got Talent stars Gao Lin and Liu Xin face potential ban over visa issue

The couple wowed viewers and the judges with their performance

Britain’s Got Talent stars Gao Lin and Liu Xin completely won over fans with their amazing performance on Saturday’s episode.

But now the acrobatic couple face being banned from the show due to an admin error meaning they might not have been allowed to audition in the first place.

A clause in the BGT terms and conditions states all acts “must have the right to live and work in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Republic of Ireland”.

But the couple, who are from China, only have visitation rights to the UK and therefore their place on the show is in jeopardy.

However, now it’s believed that the terms and conditions, which changed in 2015, had not been updated online.

A source revealed to The Sun Online: “There are some serious red faces amongst the administrators over why the up-to-date terms and conditions weren’t included when this first went online.

“Someone’s going to get a telling off.”

A spokesperson for the ITV talent show was quick to set the record straight.

They told The Sun Online: “Gao Lin and Liu Xin are technically allowed to enter BGT.

“As BGT is a talent competition and contestants are not employed, Gao Lin and Liu Xin are not in breach of their visitor visa.”

They went on to say that the admin issue is “now being resolved”.

The dancing couple’s incredible performance was praised by viewers watching from home.

One wrote on Twitter: “Catching up on #BGT and the Chinese couple were amazing! Should have 100% gotten a golden buzzer.”

“The Chinese dancing couple are just stunning to watch #BGT,” another gushed.

One tweeted: “Catch up on @BGT the couple from china are unbelievable #wow #BGT.”
