Blue Peter star ENRAGED as couple express anger over her kids in restaurant

She has insisted her young kids were "impeccably" behaved - but couple were still unhappy

Blue Peter presenter Katy Hill has vented her frustration after a couple expressed unhappiness at sitting next to her children at a pizza chain restaurant.

The 46-year-old took to Twitter to share her annoyance over the incident at Pizza Express, where she’d taken her two young children, aged seven and 11, for lunch over half-term.

She tweeted: “Dear “Older Couple” in Pizza Express – You dislike children in restaurants? I dislike miserable older people who choose FAMILY restaurants!”

When someone responded that parents need to teach their children to behave, she fired back: “No. Kids were all perfect. Some people just don’t like kids! DONT GO TO PIZZA EXPRESS IN HALF TERM! Simples!

“Hope I never get old + bitter.”

After her tweets sparked debate among followers, she took to her official website to explain just what had happened.

Katy told fans: “After about 15 minutes, a couple came in and sat at the table next to the kids.”

Katy continued: “They then proceeded to spend the rest of our meal GLARING every time a kid even spoke and muttering comments like ‘I’m trying to enjoy my lunch here’ when nobody was actually saying or doing ANYTHING which would prevent the enjoyment of said lunch.”

“Beyond bizarre!” she added.

Katy insisted that her children’s manners are “impeccable” and pointed out the couple hadn’t actually made a verbal complaint, but she could sense their disapproval at sitting near kids.

“There WERE no complaints about noisy children, because children weren’t being noisy!” she said.

“But, to my mind, it WAS a strange choice for the couple in question to enter a busy family restaurant in half term and sit next to children when they blatantly didn’t like children.”

Katy also said her children are of an age where they could pick up the vibes from the couple.

She concluded: “I felt let down by my experience this week and I’m passionate about supporting families and I’m a bit bored of kids here being often seen as an inconvenience.

We were ALL there once!”

Naturally, plenty of fans had something to say over the incident – and plenty were on Katy’s side.
