Dad-of-two Brian McFadden has opened up about fatherhood and how he regrets missing so much when his oldest daughter, Molly, was a baby.
Speaking in a guest column for Closer magazine, Brian praised TV presenter Matthew Wright for his decision to become a stay-at-home dad.
Brian, who has two daughters with his ex-wife, Kerry Katona, said: “I find it admirable that Matthew’s putting his family before his career.
“When I had my first daughter, Molly, I missed out on so many of those wonderful things in those first years as I was constantly on the road.”
He goes on to say he “envies the time Matthew will have with his first baby and all those wonderful memories.”
Brian enjoyed a hugely lucrative career with boyband Westlife before leaving to embark on a successful solo career as both a singer and TV presenter.
The 38-year-old is now very close to Molly, 17, as well as her younger sister Lilly-Sue, 15.
The three recently went on holiday together – along with Brian’s girlfriend, teacher Danielle Parkinson – which the singer called “bliss”.

It comes as the former Westlife singer was finally confirmed for the new series of Dancing On Ice.
Brian said: “I’m very excited. I’ve already been practising out the back garden on my rollerblades and my mum says I’m a one man Torvill and Dean.”
The 38-year-old also sent a video message to ITV’s Lorraine on Tuesday morning to share his exciting news.
He told viewers: “Yes the news is true, I am going to be doing Dancing On Ice 2019.”

Also announced as a celebrity contestant on Tuesday morning was professional dancer James Jordan, 40, who broke the news on BBC Radio Five Live Breakfast.
He’s no stranger to reality shows having appeared on Celebrity Big Brother.
James said: “I can dance but I’m a lot older than I used to be. People are going to probably say I’ve got an unfair advantage but when I got on the ice I actually shocked myself how bad I was.
“I want to be able to impress Torvill and Dean more than anyone else, but I’m a lot worse than I thought I’d be.”
Brian and James join previously announced contestants Gemma Collins and Richard Blackwood.

Meanwhile, Loose Women’s Saira Khan announced on Tuesday afternoon she’d also be competing on the new series.
We can’t wait to see and hear more from Brian in the lead up to Dancing On Ice. And we’re betting Molly and Lilly-Sue will be front and centre in the audience offering their support.
