After the scorching weekend heatwave, Britain will experience some cooler temperatures and rain.
According to the Met Office, cloudy weather and outbreaks of rain will sweep across areas in the UK this week.
The weather service predicts that by Sunday, there’s a risk of some thundery showers in the southwest, with settled weather continuing elsewhere.

Monday (July 1) will see sunny spells with scattered showers across northern and central parts throughout the day.
Later into the evening, it will be dry with clear skies for most but feeling “rather chilly” overnight, especially in rural spots.
There will be a few showers for northern and northwestern Scotland and Northern Ireland, and for northwest England later, and could become heavy at times across northern Scotland.
On Tuesday (July 2), it will be cooler in the north with a fresher breeze and a few isolated showers, which will mainly affecting western and northwestern Scotland.
For the rest of the week, it will be “cloudy, breezy and cool” with some rain and drizzle across the north, mainly Scotland.

Central and southern parts of the UK will experience sunny spells and light winds.
It comes after Brits enjoyed the hottest day of the year so far on Saturday (June 29).
Some people will probably be relieved about the colder weather arriving after temperatures soared to 34C on Saturday in Northolt, Middlesex.
Met Office forecaster Luke Miall told The Sun Online that the north and south will be “split” with the regions experiencing different weather throughout this week.
He said: “Looking like quite a quiet week of weather for much of the UK. The week will start as a North-South split. The North will see breezy conditions and showers, but nothing too heavy.

“Anywhere north of Manchester and even Northern Ireland will see some showers, but it will mostly be in North West Scotland.
“The rest of the South and Wales is looking fine with plenty of spells of sunshine on Monday with temperatures in the low 20s.”
