Britain is braced for nine hours of severe thunderstorms and flooding today.
The Met Office issued yellow warnings across parts of the UK as the rain and storms are expected to last until this evening.
The alert is in place from 10am to 7pm, with 1.6 to 2.4 inches of rain predicted to fall in just two hours.

The weather service has said there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be “flooded quickly”, with some “damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes or hail”.
There is also a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.
Spray and “sudden flooding” could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
There is also a slight chance that power cuts could occur.
Heavy rain will batter coastal areas around the country throughout Monday (August 12).
The northwest are expected to see the worst showers this evening and into the early hours of Tuesday (August 13).
There is currently a yellow rain warning in place across Liverpool and Manchester for Tuesday.
The southeast will be mostly dry in the afternoon.
Later into the week, there will be wet and windy conditions on Wednesday with coastal gales.
Thursday (August 15) will be dry for many, but a few showers are possible.

Friday (August 16) and the weekend will be mostly wet and windy weather.
Unfortunately for Brits, it seems the unsettled weather is set to continue into next week but things may be looking up, according to the Met Office’s long-range forecast.
Towards the end of August, there are some signs that longer drier and more settled spells may arrive, especially in the south.
The Met Office says temperatures will often be below normal for the time of year, and nights will be chilly.
