The unsettled weather that the UK has been experiencing the last couple of weeks isn’t going anywhere just yet.
Parts of Britain were battered by thunderstorms, lightning and flooding overnight and storm chasers are now warning tornadoes could hit some areas as well.
The Met Office issued yellow warnings for thunderstorms from Tuesday, which will be in effect until 9pm tonight (June 19).

The alert is in place for regions including East of England, East Midlands, London and South East England, South West England, West Midlands and Yorkshire & Humber.
And if that wasn’t enough, Tony Gilbert, spokesman for the Tornado and Storm Research Organisation, said there is potential for a supercell occurring in Kent and Sussex.
A supercell is a large slow-moving area of updraught and downdraught which causes violent thunderstorms, heavy hail, and tornadoes.
Mr Gilbert said “a number of very specific conditions potentially coming together” meaning “a significant tornado event could well occur”.
Meanwhile, the Met Office said there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, causing potential damage to some buildings as a result of floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
Where flooding and lightning strikes occur, there could be some delays to the train and bus services and even some cancellations.
Flooding could also lead to “difficult driving conditions” and some road closures.
The weather service also said there’s a “slight chance” that power cuts could occur and “other services to some homes and businesses could be lost”.
