Britain’s Got Talent auditions stopped after emergency evacuation

The show as thrown into chaos after an audition went wrong

Britain’s’ Got Talent was left in chaos near the end of this years auditions when illusionist Matt Johnson’s performance didn’t quite go to plan.

Matt was keen to impress judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams and planned to submerge himself in water and somehow break free.

Uh, how?!

But it didn’t quite work out for the performer, who hoped to win everyone over with his stunt, when the container that the water was held in cracked and caused it to flood the stage.

The Daily Star reported that the show’s team had to evacuate the venue after worrying the water could be a potential hazard and could have easily become dangerous.

A source told the Daily Star: “It caused a massive delay in filming. Thankfully it was a rehearsal and Simon Cowell and the judges had not yet arrived.”

A spokesperson for BGT added: “During an on-stage rehearsal a tank of water being used by an act accidentally cracked and flooded the stage.

“The water was swiftly cleared up and the auditions started as planned.”

But this is not only drama that the BGT team and judges have faced during this years auditions.

Simon Cowell was left shocked when an act stormed off stage on the first day before he could criticise them.

After hearing Dale Divas, a choir from Blackpool,  Simon started to say: “That was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen in my life…”

But before he could even finish his sentence, all 37 members of the choir had marched off stage leaving the 57-year-old stunned.

The choir had initially blamed their poor performance on producers who “forced” them to sing Adele’s track Rolling In The Deep.

Lead singer Annie said: “We wanted to show our fun-loving, creative spirit but it was changed by producers.”

But before Simon gave his honest opinion on the performance, fellow judge Alesha Dixon had also said the choir were not up to scratch.

The singer said: “I understand what you stand for and I really do appreciate that, however, if you want to step on stage and be on TV, it’s brutal.

“The audience can’t lie, you didn’t set us on fire. It wasn’t good enough.”

Meanwhile, BGT presenter Dec appeared to suggest that the new series would return to our screens very soon.

The TV personality shared a selfie of the judges and his presenting partner Ant McPartlin on the final day of auditions.

He captioned the snap: “Going to miss this gang until we’re all back together for the live semi finals.”

He ended the caption by saying: “Thanks to all audiences and talent who came along, it’s shaping up to be a cracking series. D #BGT #preshow#selfie.”
