Former Coronation Street star Bruno Langley has been accused of sexually assaulting two women on the same night, it has emerged.

Yesterday, we reported that the actor had been charged with assaulting a woman during a night out in Manchester.

But prosecutors have announced today that two women have complained.

A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service said: “The CPS authorised Greater Manchester Police on October 29 to charge Bruno Langley with two offences of sexual assault on a female on October 1. The charges relate to two complainants.”

The 34-year-old, from Altrincham, is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on November 28 to face the charges.

Yesterday a Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “Bruno Langley has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and will appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.

“At around 1am on Sunday, October 1, 2017, police received a report that a woman in her 30s had been sexually assaulted at a music venue on Swan Street in the Northern Quarter.”

In a statement following his departure from the soap, Bruno said: “Sadly, I will no longer be working on Coronation Street.

“Acting on the show has been the fulfilment of a personal dream.

“Playing the role of Todd Grimshaw since I was 17 years old has been a huge part of my life, and an absolute honour.”

Bruno, who has also appeared in Doctor Who, was out with castmates at Manchester’s Band on the Wall club on October 1, when the assaults are alleged to have taken place.

Ahead of the father-of-one being charged, Corrie fans launched a petition for him to be reinstated by ITV.

He will appear on screen as Todd until Christmas Eve, with writers said to be hurriedly creating an exit for the character.
