Love Island star Cara De La Hoyde has spoken out after being dropped as a bridesmaid for best pal Olivia Buckland’s wedding.
Olivia and her fiancé Alex Bowen came second in Love Island back in 2016, and had asked her co-star and BFF Cara to serve as a bridesmaid.

But as the wedding drew closer, Olivia revealed Cara would no longer be a bridesmaid – claiming that Cara was too busy as a new parent.
Now, in an interview with OK! Online, Cara has said that she was hurt by the decision and that it took her by surprise.
“I am upset, I didn’t expect it, I didn’t know that it was going to happen,” she said. “We literally just got back from the hen do so to me it was a massive shock.”

She said she wished Olivia all the best for her wedding and predicted she would look beautiful – but wouldn’t confirm whether she’d sill be attending, saying simply, “We’ll see.”
Cara, who is engaged to Love Island co-winner Nathan, said she’s planning her own wedding now and couldn’t do what Olivia did.
“I’ve chosen my bridesmaids now, I don’t think I could do that to someone and still expect them to come to the wedding,” she said. “I think it’s a bit embarrassing.”

Olivia hasn’t responded directly to Cara’s interview – but she took to Twitter and Instagram with a post that may be a veiled reference to the situation.
The post read “I don’t like forced conversations, forced friendships, forced interactions. I simply do not force things.
“If we don’t vibe, we don’t vibe.”

Olivia initially spoke about her decision in her New! Magazine column, claiming that both she and Cara were happy with the decision.
“Cara’s got Freddie now and when I asked her she was a lot less busy and I thought she could handle the pressure,” she said.

She went on to say it would be easier for both of them if Cara came to the wedding as a guest.
“She was really happy about it and said it was nice to hear that I thought about it like that,” Olivia said.
“You don’t have to be a bridesmaid to know that we are good friends.”
