Caroline Flack reveals how she REALLY feels about her X Factor axe

Hosted the Xtra Factor for three years and the main show for just one before getting the boot

Caroline Flack has insisted she refuses to be “angry and bitter” about her X Factor exit – especially as it gave her the cash to buy her “lovely” house.

The TV presenter served as a co-host on spinoff show Xtra Factor from 2011 until 2013 and then hosted the main programme alongside Olly Murs in 2015.

But she and Olly were given the boot after just one series in charge.

Despite that, the 37-year-old has said there’s no point in being angry or “moaning” about it – even if it did teach her a valuable lesson about just how cutthroat the showbiz industry can be.

Admitting that X Factor had “changed her life”, she told Fabulous magazine: “Some shows are perfect for you, some aren’t, and if you look back and be angry and bitter, you’re not going to enjoy the rest of your time.”

“I have a lovely home and that’s down to Simon Cowell and the four lovely years on The X Factor.

“So I’m not moaning at all.”

She added: “It taught me that the industry is tough. It’s tough! It doesn’t matter who you are, it’s never just a walk in the park.

“You win some, you lose some. It’s probably gonna happen to me again somewhere down the line with another job.

“But I can’t walk away. I’m not a quitter.”

Caroline and Olly were the first and only pair to co-host X Factor after they stepped in to replace show stalwart Dermot O’Leary when he left.

However, they were edged out after just one year in the role, with Dermot returning to front the series.

At the time, Caroline said in a statement: “I have had a brilliant time working on The X Factor over the last few years, and hosting the main show was just fantastic, I made some amazing friends.

“I’m looking forward to carrying on working with the team over at ITV.”

A source told The Sun at the time: “Caroline’s devastated – she really loved that show.

“She loved working with Olly and thought they did a good job despite what everyone said.

“She can’t believe that she won’t be going back.”

However, Caroline went on to find MEGA success thanks to another ITV smash hit show: Love Island.

She’s fronted the dating programme since its reboot three years ago – which means lots of lovely trips over to the sunny villa in Majorca.

Way better than being stuck in a stuffy studio, right?
