In this Saturday’s episode of Casualty, Dr Alicia Monroe returns to work for the first time since she was thrown through a glass door by her rapist Eddie McAllister.
And although Alicia would rather keep a low profile and just get on with the job, it is also the same day suspended colleague Eddie is appearing in court for attacking her.
She’s understandably apprehensive and anxious. Alicia does find support in Dr Ethan Hardy, nurse Duffy Fairhead and clinical lead Connie Beauchamp, however.

“Alicia doesn’t want to sit and dwell on what’s happened,” actress Chelsea Halfpenny told What’s On TV magazine.
“She wants the least amount of attention possible.”
However, buoyed with self-belief after being appointed as medical lead for the shift and an inspiring encounter with a young patient in need of a kidney transplant, Alicia resolves to stand up to Eddie in court.
She also makes it clear she will do her utmost to ensure he faces justice, vowing to disclose details of his behaviour in full if he pleads not guilty to assaulting her.
But will Eddie admit to his crimes?

Chelsea added: “Alicia’s so angry. She doesn’t want this guy to get away with what he’s done.”
Elsewhere in this weekend’s programme, Dr Dylan Keogh turns to fellow problem drinker Ciara Cassidy after he is requested to clear out the locker of his recently-deceased ex Sam Nicholls.
But just how close will they become?
Casualty is on Saturday, BBC One at 8.50pm
