Catherine Tyldesley has revealed she quit Coronation Street to become a writer.
The actress has played Eva Price for seven years but now wants to stretch her wings beyond just performing.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, she said: “We plan to travel, laugh as much as possible, live in the moment, work hard and cuddle my boys.
“In between, I’m writing books and scripts too, ideally on a beach or in the Lake District.”
Cath has been vocal about it being a tough decision to leave the show and was even filmed sobbing during her final scenes.

She added: “It’s been the hardest decision of my life. Corrie is my second home – best seven years of my life.”
During her final scenes filming Eva’s appearance at the inquest into Aidan Connor’s death.
Emotional Cath broke down as the wrap was called on Eva’s time in Weatherfield as her colleagues filmed the moment for her.

She captioned the post: “That’s a wrap!!! Time to hang up Eva’s stilettos and wonder bras!
“My beautiful corrie family I ADORE you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
In the video, Catherine cuddles her on-screen baby Susie as her co-stars hug and kiss her goodbye.

Cath’s fans couldn’t help but share in her emotions and commented to tell her.
One wrote: “You’re an amazing actor! Sad to see you go.”
Another added: “Eva is one of my fave characters – can’t believe it.”
A third said: “You have been amazing on Corrie and you will be sorely missed. I am dreading your exit scenes, I’ll be blubbing for sure x x”
