Katie Waissel has broken up with her husband, just months after gushing about how much she was in love with him.
The former Celebrity Big Brother star was this week snapped by a conveniently placed pap in New York NOT wearing her wedding ring, which of course, sparked rumours that all was not well in their marriage.
Little is known yet about why the couple have decided to call time on their relationship, though it is understood that Katie is taking the break up badly, and has been forced to pull out of a planned panto appearance in Jack And The Beanstalk in Cheshire..
A source close to the former X Factor songstress told the Sun: “She is simply too upset to handle the gruelling regime of a pantomime.
“Christmas will be tough on her own, but having to put on a brave face in front of a full house every night would have been tougher.
“She’s devastated things with Brian haven’t worked out.”
Katie and Brian tied the knot just over a year ago in October 2015, after just six months after their first date.
Speaking earlier this summer, the couple told OK! how much in love they were and why they had decided to get hitched after knowing each other such a short time.
“It was like that age-old saying ‘When you know, you know’.” Katie, who was previously married to model Brad Alphonso, admitted.
“I’ve been married before so I was in no rush to get into anything else, but we’re best friends. It didn’t seem fast to me.”
Brian added at the time: “It’s hard to explain but she’d been so supportive of my [stand up and radio presenter] work and I wanted to show that commitment.
“It was very low-key. We decided to get married with a high five over dinner one night in August [2015]”
Brian, who met Katie at a pal’s house party in LA , added: “Katie’s got such a striking personality and she’s gorgeous.
“I did the thing that millennials do, which is not ask for her phone number, but find her on social media and start passively liking all her posts, hoping that she would notice me.
“Then I decided to change my job and get back to LA [from Seattle] and message this girl who had been on my mind all that time.”
Awww, what a lovely story. Sadly, one that has now reached its sorry end. Oh well, onwards and upwards, Katie.
