Selena was a singer, actress and fashion designer who was often referred to as the Queen of Tejano music. Selena died on March 31st, 1995 in Texas after being shot by Yolanda Salvidar, the founder of the Selena fan club. S
alvidar, who claimed to be the singers biggest fan, had been managing Selena’s boutique in San Antonio, and was about to be fired for taking money. Selena was killed at the age of 23 so we never got to see her full potential, despite selling over 60 million albums worldwide since her death.
